HOW TO SEW YOUR NAME ON FABRIC

A few weeks back, I decided to sew something on a whim. I started out wanting to sew shorts but well, the shorts turned out twice my size! I wasn’t quite ready to give up so I decided to sew drawstring pouches instead. Operating the sewing machine is TOUGH. From learning to thread the machine, threading bobbins, to troubleshooting thread tension, uneven threading.. (yes, all this jargon). It was frustrating to say the least but definitely rewarding. Made these drawstring pouches for my friends and personalised them with their names. I’ll do a post on the pouches another day but for now, here’s how to sew your name/words on any fabric – tote bag, pouches, anything you want!

Materials:
– Fabric and embroidery thread from Spotlight
– Paper
– Marker
– Embroidery hoop from Daiso (Spotlight was selling one for $7+ but found one at Daiso for just $2!)
(Not seen here: it’s easier to sew if you use an embroidery hoop so that the fabric has some tension but it works fine without one too.)
